How to fill a memorial necklace with care
A calm step-by-step process for preparing and filling a cremation necklace or keepsake pendant at home.
Prepare a quiet surface
Choose a clean table with good lighting. Lay down a plain sheet of paper or a soft cloth so tiny pieces are easy to see. Keep the pendant, funnel filler, keepsake material, and polishing cloth within reach.
If the moment feels emotional, pause before opening the chamber. There is no need to rush the process.
Many people find it helpful to set aside more time than they think they need. The filling itself is small, but the moment can carry weight.
Use only a small amount
Cremation necklaces are intentionally small. Add a tiny amount through the funnel, then tap the pendant gently so the material settles into the chamber.
Do not overfill the pendant. The top should close cleanly without pressure.
If the material does not move through the funnel easily, stop and adjust the angle. Forcing the keepsake material can make the process more stressful than it needs to be.
Close, clean, and store the kit
Thread the top back into place slowly. Wipe the necklace with the polishing cloth, place it in the gift box, and keep the filling tools together in case they are needed again.
Remove the necklace before bathing, swimming, washing dishes, or applying lotion and cosmetics so the rhodium-plated finish stays bright.
When to ask for help
If the chamber feels difficult to open, the top does not close smoothly, or the pendant appears damaged, stop before adding any keepsake material and contact support.
You can also ask a funeral professional or trusted family member to help with the filling if that feels more comfortable.
