Ashes necklace care and cleaning

Simple care steps for keeping a cremation necklace bright, secure, and comfortable for long-term wear.

Keep the necklace dry

Remove an ashes necklace before bathing, swimming, washing dishes, or exercising heavily. Moisture can dull the finish and is not ideal for a keepsake chamber.

This matters even more for memorial jewelry because the chamber is meant to protect a tiny keepsake. Dry storage and careful wear help preserve both the finish and the threaded closure.

Wipe with a soft cloth

Use the included polishing cloth to gently rub the pendant after wear. Do not wash the cloth because the polishing agents will be removed, and black marks on the cloth are normal as tarnish lifts.

Avoid harsh cleaners, soaking, ultrasonic cleaners, abrasive pads, lotion, fragrance, and cosmetic products.

If you notice minor surface marks, rub the pendant on the cloth with slight pressure. Work slowly instead of scrubbing, especially around stones, engraving, and raised details.

Store it with care

When you are not wearing the necklace, place it in the gift box or a soft pouch. Keeping it separate from other jewelry helps reduce scratches.

A simple habit helps: remove the necklace before bed, place it in the box, and put it on after lotion, perfume, or hair products have dried.

Check the chamber occasionally

Before wearing the necklace, make sure the threaded top is seated correctly. If it feels loose, pause and tighten it carefully before putting the necklace on.
